KD believes in building power through leadership development rooted in reciprocity, healing, intergenerational relationships and connection to land. For the last decade KD has been involved in community organizing and non-profit work ranging from front-lines direct action to education and outreach. Throughout this time they have carried the ancestral strength, resilience, and wisdom of their communities into every aspect of their work.
KD is committed to a philanthropic philosophy rooted in reciprocity, integrity, and reconciliation. KD directs the power of philanthropy to activate localized regenerative economies where the people have the power. Their work includes donor organizing, resource mobilization, indigenous justice, queer liberation, ending the war on drugs, and climate justice.
KD now lives gratefully on Kanaka Maoli ‘āina in Honolulu with their life partner and dog. When they aren’t contributing their skills to this work, they can be found writing poetry, drawing, or spending time connecting with the land and waters which now surround them by hiking, participating in ceremony, and swimming in the ocean with family and friends.
