The Second Annual ACLU-HI Iftar Dinner, "Reimagining Immigrant Stories," held on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Honpa Hongwanji Hawai‘i Betsuin, was a meaningful and impactful gathering. The evening brought together the community to reflect on how immigrant experiences and cultural traditions shape a more just and restorative society.
Attendees celebrated with the Muslim Ohana and shared in the Iftar meal, breaking fast at sunset. The event provided an inclusive space, offering halal-certified dinner with gluten-free and vegan options to accommodate all dietary needs. Through storytelling and reflection, the night strengthened connections across diverse backgrounds and fostered unity.
