The ACLU of Hawai‘i partnered with the Hawai‘i Innocence Project to honor the life of Marcellus (“Imam Khaliifa”) Williams, who was unlawfully killed by the state of Missouri.
At the vigil, ACLU-HI Executive Director, Salmah Y. Rizvi also read aloud the names of Hawai‘i neighbors who have been killed by police or died in our state prisons this year alone.
Hawai‘i Innocence Project shared information on wrongful convictions and the heavy sentences levied against those in Hawai‘i criminal system.
